Edo Maajka
He was born in Brčko, where he grew up and finished elementary school.
In 1992, due to the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, he emigrated to Croatia. He finished engineering high school in Zagreb. After high school, he went back to Tuzla to study engineering and criminology.
In Tuzla, he becomes one of two MC’s in the band Discord, today known as Defence. After that, Edo Maajka, Frenkie, Casper, Hamaz and Munja created a band called Disciplinska komisija (Disciplinary committee).
After returning to Zagreb, he recorded songs Minimalni rizik (Minimal risk) and Mahir I Alma (Mahir and Alma), which soon became hits at Zagreb’s Radio 101.
After that he recorded and published his first album called Slušaj mater (Listen to your mama) that became widely popular throughout the countries of ex-Yugoslavia. He has published 5 albums so far as well as one compilation album with his band, gaining the status of one of the most famous rappers and ambassadors of this type of music in the Balkans.
He was awarded multiple times for his work.
