Branko Šimić
He was born in Tuzla, grew up in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and studied acting at the Academy of Sciences and Arts in Sarajevo. He also finished directing at the Theatre Academy in Hamburg. In 2002 he received a financial reward of Johannisloge Zu den drei Rosen, Hamburg, for theatre directing. His performances have been presented in Kampnagel Hamburg, Wiener Festwochen, Stadttheater Würzburg, National Theatre of Tuzla, Schauspielhaus Dresden and the National Theatre of Sarajevo.
Since 2012, he has been the main curator of Krass – Kultur-Crash- Festival in Kampnagel, Hamburg. In 2015, together with the photographer Armin Smailović, he created the performance Srebrenica – I counted my remaining life in seconds… in Thalia Theatre in Hamburg. He has been a jury member of the Szenenwechsel Robert Bosch Fundation since its beginning.
