The recent work by Milijana Babić is based on performative art practice and often develops in the direction of contextually specific long-lasting action in the public space. In gallery exposition, it is mainly used in the form of artistic documentation. She questions the starting point of her work as her own position as a woman and an artist in her immediate environment. She acquired formal artistic education at the Tehran Institute in Durban, South Africa, and the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana.
She is for a long time co-worker at the Mesto Žensk Festival (2003- 2015), Academy of Applied Arts in Rijeka (2007-2014), and since 2016 she participates in the development of the new initiative from Rijeka “The Citizens to their City”. She has been active in art since 2002.
